A few ideas: Sometimes a 3 day course isn't sufficient. I typically always recommend a 5 or 7 day course to my patients... Only because of just this circumstance, the 3 day doesn't work. I had yeast infection which I treated with Monistat 7. Am 90% better but still some symptoms. Can I treat it again? I don't want to take oral pill
OK to re-treat: You might just wait a couple of weeks. If "90% better", it is likely your symptoms will clear entirely. If not, you can treat again. Resistant strain?: Some yeasts are resistant to the "azole" group of drugs, which includes fluconazole and miconazole (Monistat). Since your yeast didn't clear with either of these, probably you need a different treatment by prescription (e.g. nystatin). Or maybe you have something other than yeast.
