It depends: I doubt you'll find scientific evidence as to the health benefits. That doesn't mean it is hype. A lack of evidence doesn't exclude the possibility of significant benefit. Possibly: Both cinnamon and honey have known antibacterial effects. If the bacteria in the affected tooth is sensitive to these it may help. The problem is they are not very good parameters for what dosage to use.
