I was given prescription for hydroxyzine palmotate 25mg for anxiety. Should I use that or dramamine (dimenhydrinate) for nausea and nervous stomach? I can barely eat, nausea bad
Stick w/ hydroxyzine: These medicines are very similar and both should work for your nausea. Instead of mixing meds, just stick with the Hydroxyzine for both anxiety and nausea. Also, you can try ginger containing products or vitamin b6 to help with your nausea. Hope you feel better soon. ...Read more
I prefer scop patch: I find that transderm scop (scopolamine) is both well tolerated and effective. Perhaps even better is half a scop patch, but if you do this, carefully wash your hands after cutting / applying to keep the scopolamine off your fingers & out of your eyes. Another prescription favorite is zofran (ondansetron) which is quite effective for nausea. ...Read more

Is it safe to use over-the-counter painkillers and Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) simultaneously? Is there a painkiller that is preferable to the others?
Since you are:
Taking Proton Pump inhibitors (eg Prilosec) I assume you have a stomach issue thus many OTC pain medications should be avoided (eg IBUPROFEN, MOTRIN, ALEEVE) You can use Dramamine with any of these (Dramamine is an anti-histamine) I would suggest TYLENOL (acetaminophen) in the higher strength every 8 hours is your best OTC "bet")
Hope this helps!
