UTI: It looks like a urinary tract infection, to me. And, by the looks of the WBCs, it may be moving towards a kidney infection. You should see your doctor to be evaluated. Get well soon! ...Read more

Urine (Definition)

Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more

Random sample: urine protein 31mg/l urine albumin 5.00mg/l urine creatinine 3.894mmol/l urine albumin creatinine:ratio 1.3mg/mmol is this normal?

Is this a test?: Slight variation in the reports from different laboratories does exist. So, please refer to the attached normal range for interpretation. I'm sure there is such information for you to reconcile. If any doubt, talk and confirm with the attending doctor. Best ... ...Read more

My urine has large urine amorphous sediment, small urine calcium oxalate crystals, small bacteria, small mucus , trace protein and sp grav 1.030?

My urine has large urine amorphous sediment, small urine calcium oxalate crystals, small bacteria, small mucus , trace protein and sp grav 1.030?

Sounds normal: All these are common and normal. Your urine is quite concentrated, probably due to limited fluid intake before it was collected; this probably explains the trace protein, which is the only thing mentioned that might be considered slightly abnormal. Discuss with your doctor, but I see no cause for worry. ...Read more

Slight foamy urine.spot urine test-protein 5mg/dl,creatinine 37mg/dl,albumin 2 mg/litre.Is it normal or proteinuria ?

Proteinuria: We generally calculate the urine protein to creatinine ratio and as long as the ratio is below 300 mg/g it is considered not significant (yours is only 135mg/g) so your proteinuria is not significant. But the Albumin level you mentioned, is it serum (blood) Albumin level? If yes, it is very low and unlikely! Please verify your Albumin level and it's source (blood or urine) . ...Read more

On urine test results, urine hemoglobin=trace-intact, urine microscopic = indicated, wbc/hpf=0-3, rbc/hpf=0-3. What do these results & terms mean?

On urine test results, urine hemoglobin=trace-intact, urine microscopic = indicated, wbc/hpf=0-3, rbc/hpf=0-3. What do these results & terms mean?

Normal: The WBC and rbc are referring to the number of white blood cells and red blood cells seen in a range of microscopic fields of sampled by the lab technician. The number of these cells (0 to 3) for both types of cell is within the normal limits expected. These normal, scattered red cells are enough to cause a trace of hemoglobin on the chemistry test. So these are all normal results. ...Read more
