Either or other: Your symptoms are consistent with both irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease among others. I am not sure what physical exam means and it is very important HOW the stool blood test is done to be accurate. Start taking a daily fiber supplement and drink plenty of fluid. If symptoms persist you need to see a GI specialist and have at least a sigmoidoscopy or "short scope". ...Read more
