What causes urinary hesitancy as i seem to have had it for the last year+ ?

Hesitancy: Diffuculty initiating the urinary stream can be the result of many things. In the older male it us often from prostatic enlargement. In a young male it can be simply a "shy bladder" or may be due to chemicals or medications making it difficult to relax the sphincters holding back the urine. It can.: Holding the urine for long periods of time can distend the bladder, stretching out the muscle that allows the bladder to expel urine. If this stretching is great and often enough, the muscle slowly remodels itself, weakening over time. A weak bladder can show hesitancy. As voiding habits improve some of the effects are reversible, but any permanent damage from longstanding distention is not. ...Read more
