Hi, I need your opinion. My CBC indicates elevated basophils (0.11) and platecount (416). On the otherhand, urinalysis shows WBC 11-25 and RBC 3-5 hpf?

Recheck results: Hi Shariel - Your mildly elevated CBC results may not indicate a medical condition as normal values are based on population averages. I would recommend retesting to see if there is truly an issue. Your urinalysis is concerning for an infection and treatment should be considered. Thankfully your CBC did not indicate the infection had spread into your blood otherwise the neutrophils would be high. ...Read more

Probably okay...: Nowadays, urinalysis (ua) is done by computer automation reading, resulting in common erroneous report as trace or moderate bacteria. So, overall this ua is normal or unremarkable, but suggesting possible contamination, which is common in sexually active females. So, repeating ua with/without urine culture with carefully collected urine specimen as instructed is advised if deemed necessary. ...Read more

UTI sympt., culture neg., blood tests show high WBC & neutrophils. Meds not working. Found undiscussed UA from mths ago no sympt. w/ RBC 4-10. Worried?

Rightly so!: Worry is appropriate with cause. It should tell you, in this case, that something else is going on and needs further evaluation. Problems with other organ systems, like the GI and reproductive symptoms can cause urinary symptoms. Also some bacteria that cause urinary infections are not found on routine testing and which routine antibiotics don't help. Get checked again! ...Read more
