Have occasional lower back pain & sciatica. Choosing a bicycle to buy. Better position for my back? Road (lowered position) vs hybrid (upright)

Are standing oblique twist, bar behind neck a good exercise?

Are standing oblique twist, bar behind neck a good exercise?

Listen to your body: The best exercise increases circulation to the entire body. A very simple one is to image your arms are a jump rope and move in a circle lifting your arms and opening tee chest wall as you gently rock or or "step" over the pretend rope. Doing this for 30 seconds every 30 minutes is great for people with sedentary jobs. ...Read more

Super lightheaded, foggy, & fatigued. Tilt table test 1 hr ago normal. Recent orthostatics lying 99/63, HR 54, Standing 100/75, HR 87 Abnormal?

Super lightheaded, foggy, & fatigued. Tilt table test 1 hr ago normal. Recent orthostatics lying 99/63, HR 54, Standing 100/75, HR 87 Abnormal?

Tilt table testing: has a poor sensitivity. Your orthostatic readings are abnormal with a greater than 20 BPM rise in HR. The diagnosis is made 80% of the time on clinical grounds and history, not testing. This is best evaluated and treated by an Electrophysiologist or Cardiologist. Get referred to one for best treatment options. Review Dr. Blair Grubb's websites for better understanding and treatment suggestions. ...Read more

Yoga Bearer: What, you never strained a muscle? Nice life! Part of the Yoga thing is balance. So you probably over-flexed going forward or tried it too quickly or weren't quite ready to go that far. If the curve is mild consider getting a consult from a Physical Therapist. Also, if you happen to be large breasted the weight from a poorly fitted bra can lead to chronic upper back/neck pain. Talk with your MD about getting some help with muscle therapy. ...Read more
