Upper Stomach Pain Before Eating
After eating, stomach pain/burning travels down abdomen esp. Left and right sides. Abd. Hurts when pressed on. Dr.says too much acid in body. Thoughts?
Maybe: There are many causes of belly pain, some of which are simply annoying, others are deadly. Assuming your doctor did thorough interview & exam, if stomach acid seems to be most likely cause, then high dose omeprazole (Prilosec) can help determine if acid is to blame. If symptoms persist, then other causes should be investigated. Acidity usually affects only upper, central abdomen.

Gastritis?: Hi SteveM, it is possible you have developed inflammation of the stomach. This can happen from reflux, ulceration, infection, allergies, alcohol, and certain types of food. It is a good reason to see your doctor. He may want to trial a medication to decrease acid in your stomach. U should try to limit yourself to small healthy meals and avoid acidic/ spicy foods and avoid alcohol. Hope that helps.
Many possible causes: Depending on how long after eating it happens (right away or several hours later), it could be stomach inflammation or ulcers, reflux (gerd), problems with your pancreas or gall bladder or even some type of blockage to normal emptying of the stomach (a growth within or on the outside of the stomach). If you are losing weight, have no appetite, or the pain is severe, see your doc asap!See 1 more doctor answer
I went a little over 24 hours without eating a meal, and now have a major stomach pain. Even after finally eating. What can I do to relieve the pain?
Semi-consistent stomach pain. Feels similar to hunger pangs, but eating doesn't help. Haven't found anythig to help. Any suggestions fr help or cause?
Food allergy maybe: Milk, eggs, wheat, soybeans, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts ; peanuts cause 90 % of food allergic reactions. Up to 15 million americans suffer from food allergies ; need to avoid not only certain foods but any ingredient that contains proteins derived from them. In some cases, anaphylaxis can result. Better to be safe than sorry--don't consume foods that you know will make you ill.
Why eat them then?: Food intolerance is common, variable, and individual and may even include such innocuous ingestants as water. Reference: elaine shimberg, "relief from ibs". How are your potatoes prepared, ; how much of them do you consume? Nothing wrong with cutting back on a food that consistently bothers you to eat it.
Consider this: Spicy food, may irritate the stomach so much that the lining is penetrated by the acid the stomach produces to digest sugar/carbohydrates. Would consider decreasing the spicy foods to avoid possible ulcers/even stomach cancer that could come as a result of repeated acid injury of the stomach.
My son had pyloromyotomy at 3 weeks. Now he is 5years and complain about stomach pain during eating. Thanks for helping us.?
Can too munch pepper be bad I been eating it everyday for years sometimes if I eat too munch I get stomach pain but only for little should I stop?
Family practice: There probably is no harm. Cut back if it bothers you. Discuss it with your parents.
Gastritis: Maggie, it sounds like your stomach is inflamed. In order to improve it, take an antacid like cimetidine or ranitidine, and avoid NSAIDs, alcohol, caffeine, and smoking. Reduce spicy foods and fatty foods. It will probably take a week or two, but your stomach should feel better. If your pain worsens or you start vomiting blood, see your doctor. Hope this helps!
