Rotator Cuff: It would help to physically examine the pain, but if it's behind the scapula it could be a subscapularis sprain beneath the 'wing bone'. Right shoulder might also be involved. I felt upper back pain only right hand side after wake up only .It goes after 10 minutes of wake up.It's not sure that i felt it regularly.

Sharp middle back pain, right hand side, there are no muscle knots but pain persists even after taking anti inflammatories what could it be?

Physical exam: Does your pain worsen when you twist your back? If so, it could be from facet joints. You would need to see your doctor for an evaluation because a number of things could do this including kidney stones or even aortic dissection (unlikely, but it wold be an emergency if you had this)... Trochanteric bursiti: If U were laid up 4 a while, & slept on that side a lot, U can develop bursitis over the prominence of the femur about where U describe. More common if thin, but any one can develop this. Ice, NSAIDS if able & pillow between knees, sleep on other side &/or back. Do this while U set up an appointment with Ur PCP. ...Read more
