Upper Leg Pain (Overview)

Before answering this question, it would be better to define what exactly is meant by the term "upper leg". Orthopaedic surgeons (and others) typically use the term "thigh" to mean the area between the hip and the knee. They use the term "leg" to mean the area between the knee and the ankle. Thus, it is important to specify whether we are discussing pain just below the hip or just below the knee.

Treatment for non obstructing 2.25 CM kidney stone in upper pole of right kidney ? Could the stone be causing abdominal & upper leg pain? Headache?

Treatment for non obstructing 2.25 CM kidney stone in upper pole of right kidney ? Could the stone be causing abdominal & upper leg pain? Headache?

Probably not: A non-obstructing stone may cause blood in the urine but should not be causing pain especially headache or thigh pain. Theoretically a large kidney stone that is not obstructing might cause some pain. Generally that would be back pain or flank pain rather than abdominal pain. I recommend you discuss with your physician the radiology report generated by the radiologist. ...Read more

I have been jogging for a while and now have severe upper leg pain why?

Upper leg pain jogn: If you have changed shoes or jog differently then this can cause muscle spasm in the upper leg and hip areas. Or this can be just "wear and tear" on the muscles and joints. Upper leg pain(moderate) front and back today. Only strenuous activity lately is sex but didn't feel any pain
yesterday. Hurts a little when I sit.

?

Delayed Onset Pain: Delayed onset muscle pain is common after sex. There are five adductor muscles which go from the pelvis to the thigh bone and the gracilis and adductor magnus (long adductors) go from the pelvis to the knee. The main function of these muscles is to pull the legs together. They are used quite a lot in vigorous intercourse. If the pain persists more than a week or worsens you should see your doctor ...Read more

Hello, I'm taking culturalle probiotic. I heard upper leg pain can be a side effect. Is thIs true and should I stop taking them?

Not known sideeffect: I've never heard of leg pain as a side effect of Culturelle or any other probiotics. I searched for info on Culturelle side effects on several sites and found no mention of leg pain. Probiotics can cause some gas, loose stools or constipation, which is usually temporary, and rarely allergic reactions like hives. No need to stop but you many want to consult your doctor as to the cause of leg pain. ...Read more
