I have a cold and heavy dry cough. Chest pain when breathing ans shallow breathing and left shoulder blade pain when coughing. Very lethargic?

More info needed: The diagnosis depends on the type of chest pains. They don't sound heart related, but may be due to irritated/inflamed chest wall muscles or pinching of intercostal nerves which run between ribs. Several causes: Well at 17, i would say that anxiety could play a role. If chest pain was cardiac certainly you would have had known this from prior physical exams by doc. Now, breathing pain could be viral or perhaps inflammatory such as in pneumonitis. Ramdom attacks must mean they come and go and resolve without treatment. Constant pain: The only cause of constant, or nearly constant pain is rheumatologic or neuritic: joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bursae, fasciae ,or nerves. Your observation indicates it does not involve your accessory muscles of respiration but it could be referred from your shoulder or be due to a pinched nerve from your cervical (neck) spine.
