Upper Left Chest Pain When Breathing
I would like to ask if I should be concerned about an odd breathing issue and added dull chest pain on upper left quadrant.
What could this be a left chest pain gets worse when im breathing and feels like its radiating in from under my breast to the center and upper chest?
No fever, no pain when deep breathing, just a left chest pain that starts from below the breast to center of sternum to upper chest, pain when press on?

I been having chest pain for a year now.. Mostly left sometimes right and it hurts when i flex.. My breathing is fine. What could this be? Serious?
More info needed: The diagnosis depends on the type of chest pains. They don't sound heart related, but may be due to irritated/inflamed chest wall muscles or pinching of intercostal nerves which run between ribs. Several causes: Well at 17, i would say that anxiety could play a role. If chest pain was cardiac certainly you would have had known this from prior physical exams by doc. Now, breathing pain could be viral or perhaps inflammatory such as in pneumonitis. Ramdom attacks must mean they come and go and resolve without treatment. Constant pain: The only cause of constant, or nearly constant pain is rheumatologic or neuritic: joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bursae, fasciae ,or nerves. Your observation indicates it does not involve your accessory muscles of respiration but it could be referred from your shoulder or be due to a pinched nerve from your cervical (neck) spine. Since it is possible that your heart could be the problem you are young and this could include a wide range of possibilities: lung problems(like asthma or COPD), muscular, gastritis or acid reflux, to mention a few.
