Upper Left Abdominal Strain
What to do if I have slight pain in my left lower abdomen, its only when I press on it or strain it. Is that appendicitis?
Wrong side: Though the appendix can rarely be on the left this is not likely. The only thing over there with constant position is the left colon. There are many reasons it can hurt, most of which are not terribly serious but you need to know. Have your doctor order an abdominal ct scan, a colonoscopy or both.
Pinching pain feels close to surface upper left abdomen x 2days. Gurgling. Stool normal. Feels worse with movement or straining. Appetite normal. 27/F?
Left upper quadrant: That area houses spleen, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, end of transverse colon & beginning of descending colon. Pain could be "referred"/unrelated to GI tract or due to abdominal wall muscle since worse w/ movement & Valsalva. There's also well-known link between HT, celiac disease & leaky gut, so consider visit to gastroenterologist for thorough work-up. ER: fever/BM w/blood/no gas passing.
Pain in front of abdomen just above pubic bone and into left side. Feels like strain. Painful to walk (better if heels slightly raised) ok to sit and?
Groin Strain: You may have pulled a groin muscle. It is less likely but also possible to have a hernia. A few other less common possibilities come to mind. Need more information and exam. OK to take OTC Tylenol or Advil with food prior to doctor visit for definitive diagnosis and treatment. Using the medication will make going for the doctor exam less painful. If still painful may need ambulance.
Awoke 4am by pain left abdomen @hip bone v. Sharp when touched;like muscle strain when untouched. Constipatd. Had it 2x before over afew yrs. Sudden onset, days to resolve. Saw doc prior: no action/dx?
Hip pain: Sharp abdominal pain is separate from hip bone pain. The later is associated with ligamentous problems and can be defined by pressure over the point representing area of possible inflammation. Abdominal pain can be gas pain or diverticular disease. If point tenderness located over hip region this can be relieved with xylocaine + kenalog (triamcinolone) injection.See 1 more doctor answer
Do not know.: If you are worried then be seen and have it looked at. Infection if often red and inflamed and very tender to touch. A strained muscle will be sore and may cause some discomfort on moving. Infection may also have swollen lymph nodes in the area as well as fever.See 1 more doctor answer
While running 6 miles strained left lower abdomen area took predisone 10 mg bid for 10 days. How long for it to heal? I waited 4 days to start back w
Strain: There isn't a set time for an abdominal strain to heal. It depends on how bad it is. You need to try exercises that don't cause discomfort until it stops hurting. Then gradually get back to running with a slow build up back to where you were prior to the injury.
I am a 35 year old woman having a left abdominal pain originating from hip area and running to my back feels like a strained a muscle?
I strained to have bowel movement and it hurt severely in abdomen and pain is also in left leg two days later?
Depends: Sometimes strains in you abdominal muscle groups are just a result of using them in different activities (ab crunches, sit-ups etc.) or other types of physical fitness where you are engaging your core muscle groups. It is important that if you do work your abs that you also do workouts to build up your back muscles. Remember in fitness and life BALANCE IS KEY!
I have been getting lower right abdominal pains for a week now. The pains hurt more when I'm straining and moving I've never experienced this pain.
Appendicitis?: The description of this pain and your age group suggest possible appendicitis. This may not be the case, however. Need to be seen by a doctor before it gets worse. A doctor's exam and possibly a ct scan may make the diagnosis readily and the intervention, if needed, appropriate. An emergency room visit is appropriate.
After the first few-: -days, U can start 2 use heat, & this will also help. If the strain was bad enough that there was some bleeding into the muscle, heat will increase the blood flow needed 2 clean things up within the muscle, reabsorbing the debris. Good luck.
Yes: Lifting weights can definately strain or even tear your abdominal muscles as well as potential cause a tear of your groin ligaments to cause a hernia. Always progress slowly and use proper technique.
Few drops of urine stain my underwear after pee, especially when I strain the abdomen like sitting or squad down after pee. What is the problem?
No problem: This is a very common complaint among men, especially as one ages, known as "post-void dribbling” and is rarely a sign of a significant problem by itself and almost never addressed with medicine or surgery. Behavior techniques associated with end of voiding can often correct bad habits which can lead to post-voiding dribbling: relax rather than strain, avoid compression of penis thru pants, etc.
I sometimes feel a spontaneous radiating pain when I breath from my lungs to my back and feel like a strain on my bottom right part of my abdomen?
My doctor thinks I have an abdominal strain. Can that happen if you masterbate for an hour and have 20+ orgasms. My sides clench up during this activy?
Rectus abdominus: No, these are not anal muscles, but a pair of abdominal muscles that run lengthwise between your pubis and sternum which can contract easily during orgasm. With 20 orgasms/hour the muscles are in a state of constant contraction and can be injured "strained". Orgasm is a state of "feeling no pain" not the opposite effect from excessive use. Digital use should be typing this question via this media.
Possibly: This muscle has attachments to the ribs and some strong connective tissue in the lower back. Pain would be increased with a motion similar to a situp with added twisting motion at the same time. Muscle strains will improve with time and relative rest. If no improvement in a few weeks then get checked out by your doc.
Yes: Could be a simple muscle strain. If it feels like there is a space in the muscle, it could be a separation of the muscle fibers called a diastasis. Also could be a more serious injry like a tear. That is unlikely.
