Not from the neck: All of the movement and feeling in the face is controlled by nerves that come directly from the brain, called cranial nerves. There are 12 pairs of them, and they each do different things. NONE of these nerves pass through the cervical spine. Triggers include lack of sleep, stress, and too much caffeine so avoidance of these triggers may help.
