C/p on waking: May be GERD/ reflux /gastritis. Would elevate head of bed by putting pillow under mattress, consider ranitidine or prevecid for a month and see if makes a difference. Your age and gender are against your pain being cardiac/angina. And the sharp, brief nature of the pain is not typical for cardiac pain either.
