?Upper pain cause: L5 is near the base of the spine. Symptoms are low back and leg. Upper back pain may require further imaging/clinical eval. Backpacks can be bad for the whole spine. Fanny packs may be an inadequate substitute for some folks but they do transfer weight to the hips more directly. They sell pretty big ones. ...Read more
