Upper back pain extending down my spine. I have barrett's esophagus from the purging. Could these be related?
Yes: Barrett's Esophagus can be accompanied by inflammation or ulceration of the esophagus. Pain can be in chest, upper abdomen & back. Also, purging (self-induced vomiting) can tighten chest muscles causing dresulting in rib dysfunction. When ribs then fail to move properly w/ respiration, upper back pain is common. If esophagitis isn't the cause, I recommend an osteopathic hands-on exam to check/fix ribs. Read more
I had a strong upper back pain, even when I walk I have pain in the central lower back as well, can be related to nerves or spine problems?
Back pain: Many conditions can cause back pain. In younger patients scoliosis is the most common cause. It can also be due to muscle spasm due to poor posture or improper lifting or twisting. Arthritic conditions and disk disease are more common in older patients but can happen on young adults as well. An x ray of the back would help. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Cervical steonosis cause middle upper back pain right in middle on spine? Or would that be from scoliosis or arthritics? Hurts when I get to work
Many Possibilities: Depending on how long it's been going on, I would consider an evaluation by a spine specialist. Sometimes it could be a muscle imbalance, early onset arthritis or scoliosis. Also could be a pinched nerve/herniated disc. Either way it might be good to figure it out and get appropriate treatment. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Upper back pain, slight curve in spine. Chiropractor says I need 40+ session. Second opinion? Please see xray: http://tinypic. Com/r/f4oetj/5
Second opinion yes: Nice idea to show us the xray very useful not a very bad curve in a 38 year old person I would definitely seek another opinion upper back pain can be very hard to treat but is not usually indicative of serious pathology and I would tend to doubt that the curve has much to do with it / seek out an orthopedic spine specalist perhaps best of luck with this problem. Pott's Disease: Mri with gadolinium enhancement is one of the best imaging modalities available for portraying pott's disease (tb of the spine), especially assessing its risk to the spinal cord. X-ray, ct, & bone scan can also be used but MRI is the best modality. A needle biopsy can be used to look for the AFB and other potential organisms & causes. Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
My right breast has some thickening. And I have had upper back pain for almost one year. My MRI was clear of spine. Could these be related?
Sounds unrelated.: I am concerned about the breast thickening which should be evaluated by a doctor and ultrasound to make sure that it is not a solid breast mass. The upper back pain is less concerning since the MRI showed that it is not due to an abnormality of the spine (such as metastases - cancer which has spread from its primary location) and therefore is probably muscular.
