May be muscle pain: It is difficult to say what is causing the pain without more information and physical exam.It is most likely muscle pain and may be related to day time activities and rest at night while you are sleeping makes it better.You can try over the counter Naprosyn (naproxen) or ibuprofen if you are not allergic to it and don't have peptic ulcer.If persistant see your doctor and get it checked.Message might help too ...Read more

Poor posture can cause the same issue carrying heavy objects like if you are a student with backpack can cause upper back issues. Work on proper posture.
