What causes upper back pain and very burning sensation that stretches along shoulders and back of my head? Could it be fibromyalgia? Could not bear hot

Probably not: Fibromyalgia affects both right and left sides of the body, above and below the waist. There are several things that might cause your symptoms-e.g.-trigger points (painful bands inside the muscle), facet joint arthritis of the lower neck or upper back (especially if you were in an accident with a whiplash injury), disc tears, and subluxation of the joints between the rib and vertebrae. ...Read more

I keep getting a weird tingly burning sensation at the tops of both breasts. Not pain, discomfort. Doc says heart ok. Upper back pain. Anxiety. Ideas?

Probably ok: Your symptoms are unusual because there is tingling on both sides. If it was a stroke or a tumor, it would only be on one side of the body, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. It could be from anxiety, but that's an unusual way for it to present. There is a condition called myelitis, inflammation of the spinal cord, that could cause this. Ask your doctor to evaluate you with this in mind. ...Read more

4 weeks postop alif, was doing great, no leg or back pain, just recovery pain. Now burning sensation & pain on top of feet, very painful & bad at night.

Nerve irritation: This sounds like an irritation of the L5 nerve root or distal peroneal nerve. Check back with your surgeon. Re-imaging with MRI or myelogram, or electrophysiological workup (EMG) may be helpful to pinpoint the problem. They may start you on Neurontin or Lyrica (pregabalin) medication which reduces nerve pain. Short course of steroids (cortisone) may help but will slow down your fusion. ...Read more

Burning sensation and pain in lower right leg, numbing sensation in foot, pinching sensation in hip? No back pain.

Burning sensation and pain in lower right leg, numbing sensation in foot, pinching sensation in hip? No back pain.

Depends: I would like to know where the pain starts. If it originates at the buttock it is possible that the problem could be coming from the back despite not having back pain. My advice would be to get an EMG to rule out a radiculopathy, consider imaging of L-spine and Right Hip, and based on these results decide further tx. Buttock pain could be coming from back, hip or SI joint. Further w/u needed. ...Read more
