My temperature at night is 100.5. Have severe upper back pain and chills in night. What is wrong with me. Temperature normal in the morning?

My husband has upper back pain, pain in the chest and a bit in both of his arm pits it only happens at night 2 hours into his sleep.
Could be his: Sleeping position or from the mattress if it is old not supporting his back. If the back is not supported it can hurt into the armpits and around into the front of the chest all the way around to the middle. Have him try a different sleeping position for certain.
