POSSIBLY: Usually a ruptured ovarian cyst causes very acute and sharp pain, typically in the lower abdomen . If this pain has always been in the upper abdomen, i would be suspicious of another source, such as gallbladder, pancreas, stomach, or even appendix. Depends: If the cysts was a simple cyst it usually resolves in 3-7 days if it was not a simple cyst, it may require some attention if it was an endometriosis cyst it can take weeks to settle down if it bled inside, it can take a week to settle down. ...Read more

See a Dr: If an ovarian cyst is causing discomfort and urinary urgency, it needs further workup to ensure that it has not twisted or ruptured. Pressure on the lower abdomen probably means the cyst is increasing in size and needs re-evaluation to ensure there is no associated fibroid in the uterus. Among some of the possibilities include diverticulitis, scar tissue from your prior surgery, a hernia, an irritation from a nerve in your back above where you had your previous back surgery just to name a few.
