Are you sure?: How sure are you that he has takotsubo's cardiomyopathy? It usually does not give chest pain. Cardiomyopathies in general do not give chest pain as a primary symptom, usually sob is the main issue. Why takotsubo's does not occur in men as much is not known to the best of my understanding.
