Thoughts on the effective meds for racing thoughts associated with anxiety-ocd-bipolar...Tough question..Any takers?

No problemo: There are probably antidepressants on board for the ocd, so in this situation i give my vote to one of two drugs i find helpful in mixed or rapid cycling states. And the winners are Invega (paliperidone) or Fanapt in my practice, preferably with tegretol or Depakote on board. Best wishes. ...Read more

Wellbutrin150mg and marijuana cause seizures on person with Anxiety desorder?

Wellbutrin150mg and marijuana cause seizures on person with Anxiety desorder?

Very unlikely but: Wellbutrin (bupropion) causes seizures in about 1 in 1000 people who take 300 mg or less. The incidence of seizures increases with higher doses. Marijuana actually reduces risk of seizures. Many people who suffer from seizures poorly controlled by drugs finds marijuana often helps them far better than meds. If someone on 150 mg of Wellbutin & marijuana has a seizure it's probably not caused by taking them. ...Read more

After 2month on Depakote for cyclothymia i'm starting to have constant anxiety attackand fear of parents death:helpless child. But more myself. Help?

Psychotherapy: First, make sure you've had a thorough health evaluation with your family doctor. If all is well, know that psychotherapy with an experienced therapist may help you both understand and deal with these feelings in yourself. Medications alone usually do not work as well as combined approaches. Please ask your doctor for a therapist referral -- others in your community may know of helpful ones too. ...Read more
