Needs to be checked: Ovarian cysts are often benign. But if they keep getting larger or have a papillary component, then we get concerned and pursue it further to make sure that there is no Cancer(Ovary Cancer) hiding inside it.
CA 125 , if elevated above 150-200(Normal is ...Read more

What is an unilocular anechoic cyst?

What is an unilocular anechoic cyst?

Cyst: Anechoic means that the fluid is homogenous...there is no internal debris, air bubbles, solid portons, etc... that would reflect the ultrasound beam(therefore no echoes or 'anechoic'). Unilocular means that the cyst does not have any compartments or internal divisions. Both of these findings are benign features. ...Read more

Ovarian cyst(4-5cm)unilocular liquid with papillary component (2.8x1.4cm). 26yo, no family history of cancer. Waiting for markers. Odds of malignancy?

Can not calculate: We can not calculate the odds of malignancy with this information. Based on your age and the size a malignant ovarian tumor is not particularly likely even with a complex ovarian cyst with papillary components. It sounds like your doctor is testing to help rule out malignancy which is good. Keep your follow up with your doctor. ...Read more

I have a 93mm unilocular midline ovarian cyst, possibly cystadenoma. Pain in lower buttock down leg, very restricted urination.

I have a 93mm unilocular midline ovarian cyst, possibly cystadenoma. Pain in lower buttock down leg, very restricted urination.

Need removal: Typically a CA-125 level would be checked to help determine the likelihood of malignancy. Sounds low based on the US findings. Regardless, the mass should be removed to relieve your symptoms and so that a pathologist can evaluate the ovary. Most times both tubes and ovaries would be removed and sometimes the uterus. Discuss with surgeon to make the best decision. Hope this helps. ...Read more

I would like to know what a few different doctors recommend for a 10.2x3.9x4.9cm uterus and 2 CM unilocular cyst-long periods, cramps, clotting-Thanks?

I would like to know what a few different doctors recommend for a 10.2x3.9x4.9cm uterus and 2 CM unilocular cyst-long periods, cramps, clotting-Thanks?

Dysmenorrhea: The first question is are you finished with your family? If your family is complete then you are able to do something more permanent. The size of your uterus is essentially normal. The unilocular cyst is physiologic. That leaves the clotting. Ask your doctor about an endometrial ablation. This would eliminate the long periods and the passage of clots. It is an outpatient procedure. ...Read more

Are septated cysts on ur ovary something to worry about?
