Many possibilities.: Hard to say without a photo, but it could actually be a bruise. I'm assuming it appeared recently, so it's not a birthmark. Infection?: Red hot swollen spots make me think of infection, perhaps abscess or folliculitis, or sebaceous cysts. Abscesses don't usually go away by themselves but rather need to be drained. What you described is not worrisome, however it is worth watching, i.e, keep an eye on such lesions to see if more are developing. At your next visit to your doctor you should ask her/him to look at the lesions, if any are present at the time. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Purpura: Easy bruising can have many causes. One of the more common causes is minor trauma--hands, forearms, legs--in people on blood thinners. Something that accelerates bruising is the use of either topical or systemic steroids. I think your Aspirin and inhaled steroids are causing/worsening the problem.
