Underarm Pain Left Side
I'm having sharp pain left side directly under my armpit that gets worse when lying on my left side.
Underarm: Underarm pain can be tricky. There are many of possible causes. Please go in to be checked as some of those causes are not as benign as others.
Upper chest pain, left side closer to my armpit. Had it for a month, comes and goes, feels kind of like achy/sharp pain above my heart?
See thoracic surgeon: Begin with pcp, if no help concider vascular or thoracic surgeon. Your first rib could pressing on the vessel causing symptoms. Thoracic outlet syndrome is remote possibility.
Pain, left side, rib area in the backside, few inches below armpit. Feel like its between bone &skin. Not internally. Front left chest pain w/it.?
Follows a rib: That's a pretty good description! It's following an intercostal muscle or rib. You may have costochonditis (rheumatism of the joint where the rib attaches to the breatbone). You may have intercostal neuritis. If a rash appears, it could even be shingles. Has there been any minor trauma or lifting?
26, active, low bp, great cholesterol, normal labs. Hypothyroid. Sudden L upper arm pain L today & on & off chest pain left side near armpit. Scared.?
IT's not likely to: Be your heart. With pain where you described it, it sounds like a muscle sprain or something musculoskeletal. See your Dr if concerned.
I have underarm pain on left hand side. Feels muscular. Comes and goes, not related cycle, Bra? Pleurisy? Have lifted heavy bags. Heart? Cancer?
Lifting: Few things will cause underarm pain. This is the site where the neurovascular pedicle passes from the neck, under the collar bone to the arm itself. The muscles there such as subscapular and latissimus can be strained by lifting heavy bags unless this is routine. The bra, lung inflammation (pleurisy) hormone cycles unrelated to producing these symptoms
It depends...: There are many potential causes of chest pain, from musculoskeletal to respiratory to cardiac/heart, among others. Without a complete history & exam, it's impossible to determine the cause of your chest pain. You should make an appointment w/ your primary physician to determine what testing or treatment is needed. IF IT'S NEW CHEST PAIN WITH EXERTION, YOU SHOULD GO TO THE CLOSEST ER IMMEDIATELY
Many, many things: That being said, ruling out cardiac is the most important thing to do. After that, it could be any number of internal issues, intercostal muscle spasms, reflux, pancreatitis, ulcers, lung issues. If its going all the way through from front to back, this is one of those areas you should have checked out just to be safe rather than assuming its a musculoskeletal issue.See 1 more doctor answer
May be rib issues: Including muscle spasms causing them to tighten from trauma or postural issues, specific muscle spasms. However, you should be examined to rule out spleen, stomach and even cardiac concerns. I do not see male/female on your question above, but remember women can have completely different signs of cardiac issues as men and this should always be ruled out first.

Please call 911.: Left chest and back pain could be due to a serious underlying cardiovascular or pulmonary condition. If this is acute, see urgent care or, if no one can take you, call 911 immediately for emergency services. If not acute, see your doctor anyways as soon as you can for diagnosis, preferably today. Check with your doc: Chest pains can come from narrowed arteries in the heart. However this usually occurs with exertion and resolves with rest. A pain in the chest at night could also be from acid reflux or some other GI problem. Or it even could be from some muscular or rib pain. I suggest calling your doctor for an appointment to discuss further.See 1 more doctor answer
Have costosharp pain left side top breastbone twisted body felt like something popped in middle of chest and pain disappeared since is this possible?
Pop goes the Cart...: It sounds like you giving a pretty good description of pain from the area of the cartilaginous junction between the ribs and the breastbone. This type of pain can come and go for seemingly no apparent reason, although twisting movements could be a contributing factor. Although medical treatment is not generally necessary, if concerns arise, a consultation with a specialist might allay your fears.
I was ovulated yesterday Oct, 23rd & I had pain in my right side last for 5 hours today Oct 24th I hve pain left side last 1hour is my 2 ovary realised?
Over Easy?: Usually one ovary ejects a few eggs & the other ovary takes over next month, back and forth-but like most things in the wild & wacky world of biology, not all is perfect & there can be times when both ovaries send out eggs. In those women prone to some pain at ovulation this can be frustrating & could be confused with something else. But rest assured that ovulatory pain usually resolves in a few days.
