What causes skun under toes to crack? How fix? Thankyou

To start with...: It may be athlete's foot. The best otc medication (in my opinion) is lotrimin (clotrimazole) ultra. Socks should be a synthetic material like those manufactured by thorlo [http://www.Thorlo. Com/]. Dilute vinegar soaks are good as well. Dry the inside of your shoes by placing them up-side down over an air return vent at home overnight. If this doesn't make things better in a couple days, see a podiatrist. ...Read more

I was an irish dancer and clogger for 12 years. I also was a cheerleader in hs. In the past year I have noticed large lump under toes &swollen. Why?

Possible Neuroma: This sounds like a neuroma or a plantar fibroma. It is not knowable in this format but if it is one of these they are not cancerous. How can you tell the difference between subungual hematoma vs melanoma? Had a dark area under toe nail for 3 months (not a vertical line though)

Not safe to guess.: Telling the difference between the two is not always as simple as following as bullet point list. Both of these conditions can vary in appearance from patient to patient. To reduce the chances of missing the diagnosis, several things are needed. Big toe right foot, under toe nail there's a yellow line. I haven't been to a doctor in like 20 yrs. I smoke cig. I know my health is bad, but this is new.

I'm : I'm not all that clear on what you mean by a "yellow line." vertical? Horizontal? Perfectly straight? Slowly growing or suddenly appearing? Beyond a better description, adding a link to a photograph would also help.

So, given the limit of what information you provided, it's hard to make any kind of reasonable determination as to the cause. I will say that one of the most common causes of discolored toenails is a fungal infection, and while fungal infections of the nails can start with any sort of pattern, it's not typically a "line."

I would be remiss in any answer to advise you of the obvious, though. Being a smoker especially, it's probably a good idea to see a doctor every 20 years or so, whether you need to or not, especially if you "know [your] health is bad." as much as it's annoying to see us doctors (believe me, I know!), there is an alternative to bad health..... Good health!

If you can post a picture of your toenail, I'll try my best to give you a more meaningful answer. ...Read more

Is it safe to mix Nystop powder and Lotrimin (clotrimazole) cream? I have a really bad case of blistering, oozing tinea pedis between and under toes — for a month.

May not work as well: I would think that at best it's an overkill and at worse, it's going to minimize the effective action of Nystop. I would go with the lotrimin (clotrimazole) cream for several days, and see if the infection starts clearing. If no then switch to the powder. ...Read more

Need to see it: It is impossible to know without seeing it. You should consider being seen by a doctor or having an online consult (if you are a Waikato DHB patient).
This could be as simple as a fungal infection (most likely) or as worrying as a melanoma (most dangerous but much less likely).
