Push fluids!: This was poor advice and is a reminder you can't trust everything you read online! What you are experiencing is what would be expected even with diluted bleach. If you can swallow, keep drinking water or milk. If you can't swallow or symptoms worsen, go to Emergency Room immediately. You may need a nasogastric tube and IV fluids. Swollen glands: Your diarrhea may have been due to a systemic viral infection which effected you GI. The lymph nodes in your body respond to any irritation and infection by inflammation. Acutely enlarged lymph nodes in this setting are not unusual. Diarrhea has likely caused dehydration which can contribute to general inflammation. Aggressive rehydration is a good idea.
