I had a mole under my armpit area, it turned black, it dried and fell off. The area didn't bleed at all. Should I worry about? It was a hanging mole
No: A simple examination by your doctor can at least help differentiate benign looking lesions/ mole, as well as lump/ mass. If needed, your doctor can do other diagnostic test like ultrasound or biopsy. Have yourself examined for your peace of mind. ...Read more

Biopsy vs observe: I highly recommend a punch biopsy. This can be done by your primary care doctor, a surgeon, or a dermatologist. You can't really tell with 100% confidence if a mole is pre-cancerous based on its visual appearance. You have to examine it under the microscope. The other (poorer) option is to observe for changes in a few months. Take a high-quality digital photo with a ruler today for comparison. ...Read more

Yes: Don't want to alarm, but IMO any mole that misbehaves, including bleeding with minor irritation, should be taken VERY seriously. It is probably not melanoma, but this could be an early warning and you can never be too careful with this disease. It is a killer. And it can be cured if found and treated early. See someone and if they are unimpressed, ask why it bled and what if it IS a melanoma. ...Read more

You have mentioned two of the warning signs of melanoma (change in size and two different colors).
