Sonogram (Definition)

An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Twin is high risk..: Generally, embryonic cardiac activity is seen between 5 and 6 menstrual weeks of pregnancy - single or twins or triplets. If both fetuses share a single placenta (monochorionic, monoamniotic placentation), and if one is demised, the other will likely have problems. Furadantoin: Not sure whether you are pregnant or having side-effects of drug. There has been no evidence in animals that this should affect your fetus. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. ...Read more

Dx with pcos. Have had a normal period for over a year now, but am now two months late. Experiencing multiple pregnancy symptoms but got negative test result. Is it possible my hCG levels are too low to read bc of pcos?

Possible: It is always possible that you may be pregnant when you miss a period. Because you have pcos, it's hard to know if you are pregnant or simply skipping periods. Symptoms of pcos can mimic symptoms of pregnancy as well. If the tests have been negative it is unlikely that you're pregnant. Blood pregnancy tests are more sensitive than urine and can help alleviate your concerns. ...Read more

Do one more, first AM and if negative wait. The normal cycle is between 21 and 35 days. If they remain irregular or absent see your provider for some simple hormone tests (thyroid etc) ...Read more
