I had an Ultrasound guided SI joint INJ. The numbing med wore off. I was given Hydrocode 10mg/325mg. I hate takin narcotics. Is there anything else?

Anteriolateral disc w/o reduction both TMJ joints. Tried meds, arthrocentesis. Splint on order. How long to try splint for before surgery?
I was hit by an airbag 10yrs ago resulting in tmj. I have tried everything from splints to arthrocentesis. The MRI shows both joints are damaged & displaced & the lower jaw bone is now flat. Surgery is scheduled. Is this my best option?
