Ulnar Nerve Compression Symptoms
Ulnar Nerve: Are you referring to cubital tunnel syndrome where compression of your ulnar nerve is causing pain, tingling, numbness or weakness into the hand? Usually this can be treated by decreasing the amount of time you are in a flexed elbow position at work, in a car, and during sleep. A small knee pain on your elbow with the pad in the front will help you keep your arm straight at night. ...Read more
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more
I have had symptom of ulnar nerve compression for 4 weeks in both arms. I suffer from raynauds, could these symptoms be due to poor circulation?
I was typing on my ipad when suddenly i felt that my left thumb was slowing down drastically. I also have ulnar nerve compression. What could cause i.
Steve Jobs syndrome: Ulnar nerve entrapment or compression tends to initially have more sensory symptoms as opposed to motor symptoms. The ulnar nerve supplies or innervates many of the hand muscles including some of the muscles involved in control of the thumb (e.g. Adductor pollicis muscle). This may have caused the symptoms described. ...Read more
I am on 50 mg tramadol and 300 mg Neurontin for bilateral ulnar nerve compression. And am still in pain. Is there a better medicine? (no narcotics)
Ulnar neuropathy: Actually the dose of Gabapentin you are taking is low. We routinely start low to prevent side effects then titrate slowly to higher doses. Target doses for my patients can go into the 3000 mg per day range. If this fails then other meds lyrica, Cymbalta are worth trying. Also may be worth having an ulnar injection to reduce nerve irritation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My daughter is 4 years old. she got an elbow fracture along with median and ulnar nerve compression. Will this heal?
Possibly: The fracture will likely heal if properly tended.Nerve compressions heel better than cut nerves. If nerve sheaths haven't been severed, the nerves have a chance of regrowing properly following the tract that remains. If the nerves were severed & the tracts disrupted, the nerves may not regrow properly.Regardless, as long as a neuroma doesn't form,a brain can sometimes rewire to allow proper function ...Read more
Would a compression sleeve help my elbow.i had medial epicondylar release with ulnar nerve decompression 4months ago it has swelling & tight.
Ask surgeon: to be sure, but often a light compression sleeve will help reduce swelling after this type of surgery. The reason it is important to ask your surgeon first however is because of the ulnar decompression part. If you had a great deal of scar tissue or other anatomic abnormalities, you want to make sure they are not worried about compressing the ulnar with compression sleeves. Otherwise should help. ...Read more
Will a neoprene elbow compression sleeve help for ulnar nerve entrapment? It feels like the sleeve constricts blood flow a little too much.
Might be too small: In general, a neoprene elbow splint/sleeve can help with a mild ulnar neuropathy by limiting extreme flexion of the elbow past 90 degrees--which stretches the nerve across the elbow. It should not restrict blood flow. Consider something with more padding to cover the nerve and something less tight/constricting. ...Read more
