What types of estrogen pills can I take for spotting on the Depo-Provera shot? And can I get it over the counter?
I'm 58 & had breast cancer 2x. Drs won't prescribe any type of estrogen because of this. Sponteniety shot due to vaginal dryness. What else can I do?
9 weeks ago had ovaries removed. Tried 2 types of estrogen but really bad anxiety attacks, crying and depression. What can I do? Can't antidepressants.
Ovarian removal: Most likely you'll be having hot flashes and other signs of estrogen deficiency. Your gyn physician can work with you to relieve this -- please continue! i'm not sure why you say you can't take antidepressants? Some of the ssri's (like Effexor (venlafaxine) and paxil, etc) are known to help with hot flashes. If you have anxiety & depression also, these may help you in more than one way. ...Read more
I have no estrogen and am gaining weight rapidly even though I am eating mainly greens, salads, & exercising. Is there a special food type that i need?
Protein & Exercise: Sorry to hear that you are gaining weight despite what sounds like a rigorous diet and exercise program. A higher protein intake can stimulate metabolism and reduce appetite. No definite answer: Usually more related to progesterone. Even among varying dose of estrogen in birth control pills they are all low doses, and generally even the same estrogen. Insomnia can also be a sign of lowering of your own estrogen levels as women get closer to menopause. So it may not be from the pills. ...Read more
