Surgery has to be done to make sure that no colon cancer is left behind and that will depend on how severe is your problem. Too small to be bad: 4 mm is 1/6 th of an inch- very small. Most doctors can tell if polyp looks benign- not cancerous or not. But final results will come back if he took it out and sent it to the lab. Also, such small polyps very rarely would be cancerous. ...Read more
