Tylenol Pm Vs Benadryl For Sleep
Sure: Tylenol (acetaminophen) pm contains tylenol (acetaminophen) which may not be needed to get to sleep or allergies but probably isn't harmful unless using other tylenol (acetaminophen) throughout the day. Diphenhydramine (main ingredient in many of the medications) makes people very sleep, particularly wen not used everyday so as far as overall allergy medication, as long as not having hangover in day can be quite effective. ...Read more
I alternate between Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and klonopin (for sleep) is it safe to take klonopin for anxiety morning after taking a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for sleep?
Cannot fully endorse: Your information is of concern, as you describe issues with both sleep and anxiety and they may well relate. However, sounds like this may be getting more complex. You obviously have a sleep disorder, and may well need help with the anxiety. Please see a sleep specialist, and perhaps a psychiatrist, as there may be more success with an alternative approach. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Question?: What is your question? Typically the pm pain relievers contain an antihistamine to promote sleep. But you may be groggy in the morning when you wake up. If you do not need pain relief try to avoid them, too much tylenol (acetaminophen) can have very bad side effects. Also please take only infrequently, never on a continuous basis. If sleeping is a problem, talk to your physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is it ok to take cetirizine (an antihistamine) for sleep? Or, is Benadryl (diphenhydramine) better for sleep?
Neither best: Many drugs have sedation as one of many side effects, such as the two you mention. In fact, Restoril (temazepam) is an old brand of hydroxyzine I'd written for years ago whose use is implied by the name. Yet it is primarily an antihistamine. Better to ask for currently used drugs whose effects are more specific for insomnia. ...Read more

The advil does nothing to help you sleep but it is hard on the liver and the rest of the gut. Temporarily: Taking otc meds and even prescription pills are ok for a short term basis. Insomnia is often a multifaceted issue that needs proper evaluation and treatment. Can I take a sleep medicine with famotidine such as night time Nyquil or Tylenol (acetaminophen) pm?
Yes: Usually, there is no interaction with famotidine and nyquil or tylenol (acetaminophen) PM. Some recommend avoiding the combination with a different pain medication such as enteric-coated naproxen as the combination may result in premature dissolution of enteric coating, potentially increasing risk of stomach ulcers sometimes associated with naproxen. ...Read more
Work differently: Claritin in a non-drowsy antihistamine. It doesn't cause sleepiness, but you need to use it every day for it to work really well. It's lousy for severe allergic reactions because it takes days to be fully effective. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) causes drowsiness and only lasts for six hours, but is great for severe allergic reactions and works very quickly. If you're exposed and need help now, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
