Hi doctor, it's late at night and I am suffering from my allergies that seems like it's turning into a cold, is it safe for me to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) sinus?
Better not: The available tylenol (acetaminophen) sinus is the daytime, which might not help you sleep, besides if you have blood pressure problems it's not advised. Plain tylenol (acetaminophen) and Benadryl are better alternative, read the labels carefully and don't exceed recommended dosage, best wishes ...Read more
If i i took ibuprohen 800mg 3 hours ago, can I take tylenol (acetaminophen) cold and sinus night time medication now?
Yes: Because these 2 are from different classes of medication, it is fine to alternate Ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen) for a short term basis. I am also assuming that you have normal liver and kidney function. However, if your symptoms do not improve with this regimen, you should see your doc. ...Read more

Most likely . . .: Use http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.html to look for drug-drug interactions. You'll need to be more specific re Tylenol Sinus as there are at least 8 different versions! each w/different combination of medications. No relationship: Advil (ibuprofen) allergy is relatively common; tylenol (acetaminophen) allergy is rare. These two drugs are chemically unrelated so you can't be allergic to both. Also taking both drugs on the same day does not increase your chance of a reaction to one or the other. Stop taking Ibuprofen & use only Acetaminophen until you see a board-certified allergist for the correct diagnosis. ...Read more

Tylenol (acetaminophen) safety: Typically 6 grams of tylenol (acetaminophen) per day is safe for most adults, which would be two 500mg tablets every 4 hrs. However, two every 6 hrs. Would be a better choice. If you are treating a sinus pressure headache, try adding an over the counter decongestant nasal spray such as afrin, neosynephrine, 4-way etc.. Be careful not to use these products for more than 2 days as they can cause rebound congestion. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
