Benign hypnic jerks: Nocturnal myoclonus, or benign hypnic jerks, are normal though sometimes bothersome. These may be worsened by alcohol, sleep deprivation, untreated depression, low potassium or magnesium, or hypoxia (low oxygen getting to the brain) from smoking/ sleep apnea/ lung disease or copd. Sleep hygiene should help. Good luck! ...Read more

I have twitching pain arms back legs hips stomach jelly legs small headackes lot of blood test MRI spine neuro exam good doc says gad me brain tumor?

Anxiety: By gad, i assume you mean generalized anxiety disorder. Blood tests won't tell you about a brain tumor. Neither will an MRI of your spine. And if brain tumor is too small to affect your neurologic function, a neuro exam might not demonstrate it. So if you don't believe a "good doc", then get a second opinion. Btw if brain ct or MRI is negative, then very unlikely to be brain tumor. ...Read more

What could be causing my arm pain and twitching in both arms and legs?

Several things: This problem mandates a real-time (face-to-face) meeting with a doctor. A history has to be taken along with a examination as well as labs and other tests. Only after all this will your doctor be in a position to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to help you. ...Read more

For the past 4 months, I've been having muscle twitching in my arms and legs and knee collapsing. Does this need to be evaluated or can I let it be?

Get it evaluated: That's my opinion. You could get some labs done and a good neuromuscular examination (maybe by a good neurologist) and get appropriate diagnostic testing. You could have a condition known as benign fasciculations but if your knees are collapsing then, you should go in for medical attention. ...Read more

What brain tumor?: Twitching arms/legs which cause full body movements are not twitches anymore...except to the TOUGH AND RUGGED AUSSIES! We call them either ballistic movements, forceful myoclonic jerks, or even convulsions if you've got some type of brain tumor. Would you like to speak to a neurologist a bit more on this subject? If so, please write me at: www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi Key Code: PDXFNR ...Read more

Had painful sensations in arm, muscle twitches in arms, legs and face and having lately painful joints, feet and leg muscles. Is this a nerve problem?

It could be, or more: Your guess is pretty reasonable, but it could also represent a metabolic or central nervous system issue. Medicines you take could also be a contributing factor. See your family doc to be sure.. ...Read more
