Need more info: There is no need to get a cerclage just because you have a twin pregnancy. It is recommended only if there's risk of preterm labor. There are, of course, risks to this procedure - including infection, bleeding, premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, etc. The success rate ranges from 80-90% if done electively (not emergency). Twins: Dichorionic/Diamniotic twins have 2 separate placentas and 2 separate amniotic sacs. Fraternal twins. These have the lowest mortality risk of twin pregnancies. Monochorionic/Diamniotic twins have 2 amniotic sacs and one placenta. Have a risk of increased risk. Monochorionic/Monoamniotic share one sac and one placenta and also have a higher risk.
