I'm on pyridium for a uti I know it says it will turn your urine orange but when I went this morning it was more like dark red like blood is this norm?
Pryidium: I'm on pyridium for a uti I know it says it will turn your urine orange but when I went this morning it was more like dark red like blood is this norm? ANS: the more concentrated your urine is the more red/orange it will be. I would take picture of it and send to your team and see what they see. Eating beets or drinking beet juice can also give red urine that looks like blood but is beeturia.
I have a uti and im taking meds that turn my urine orange, I just took an at home pregnancy test. Its negative, do you think my result was affected?
Pyridium (phenazopyridine): The reason pyridium (phenazopyridine) can make urinalysis or pregnancy tests difficult to read is because the orange color will dye the dipstick or the viewing window on the test. If you could see the test result clearly in the window and it was unambiguously negative, then the pyridium (phenazopyridine) did not affect the test, and the reliability will be the same as always for the test you used.See 1 more doctor answer
Can red Salsa turn your urine orange? It went straight through me and I had diarrhea, it had an odd smell. Stool was tinged orange and red.
Probably: I definitely wouldn't put it past salsa to turn your excrements orange and red. Has this happened to you before? Was it a new kind of salsa for you? I'd say if it stops soon and you're not having other symptoms like burning when you urinate or obvious blood then it should get out of your system within a couple days and you'll be fine. If you are having other symptoms, maybe get checked out.See 1 more doctor answer
That is absolutely: Normal and your prescriber just forgot to tell you like I have done in the past.
Many possibilities.: The color of urine will depend on hydration status, ingested foods, vitamins, medications, & certain health conditions. Food: beets, blackberries, artificial food coloring. Vitamins: b complex, multivitamins. Medications: Pyridium (phenazopyridine), certain laxatives. Medical conditions: hemolytic anemia, rhabdomyolysis, light blood in the urine due to injury, infection, or tumor.
Orange urine: This is commonly seen after women take an over-the-counter bladder spasm medicine called pyridium (phenazopyridine) for UTI symptoms. Some high-dose vitamins or supplements could do it too, or if you eat excessive amounts of foods with beta-carotene (like carrots). Or, if you are dehydrated, that makes your urine more concentrated and it appears amber or orange.
See MD: You need to have a urine analysis if this discoloration persists.
