I am suffering from myopia. I wud like to correct my vision by lasik. Can I do t during pregnancy. Hw long s the viability f lasik? I heard only 8 yrs.
Viable long term: The effects of lasik do not wear off. Once your eyes have fully healed after surgery, the results are pretty permanent. There is certainly no 8 year time limit. And definitely wait until your pregnancy is over and your hormone levels have returned to normal before having lasik surgery.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes.: Pregnancy can affect vision in many ways. It can change the power of your eyes, changing your eyeglass and especially contact lens prescription. This is harmless, and usually reverses weeks/months after delivery. Other causes can be more serious, so please see an ophthalmologist at least once before the end of next week to have them screen you. Best wishes for your upcoming childbirth!See 1 more doctor answer
Yes...: ...but depends on what the effect is. Slightly worsened far or near-sightedness is normal. Other changes may not be.
Possibly: Pregnancy alters the fluid balance in the body which includes the cornea (the window at the front of the eye) which can swell a little in early pregnancy and change the eye power causing some degree of minor blur. It is not a reliable or diagnostic test for pregnancy so rely on other types of testing to determine pregnancy.
I'm 14 weeks pregnant and any time I stand up my vision dims and I feel as if I'm about to pass out. Is this serious or normal for pregnancy?
Dizzy & pregnant: Fluid requirements during pregnancy increase dramatically due to the required increased blood volume that is necessary during a healthy gestation. Caloric requirements increase as well. It would be wise to make sure you are drinking plenty of pure water and changing positions slowly. Anemia during pregnancy is another concern, and your obstetrician is likely following this.See 1 more doctor answer
Sometimes: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause mild changes in the way your eyes focus light, what eye doctors call "refractive error." an exam would determine if that is happening. I wouldn't expect significant dryness or headaches in someone your age. However, if you are straining to see well because your refractive error had changed, you might get mild headaches and dryness. I recommend an exam.See 1 more doctor answer

See eye doctor: Some patients experience a change in their prescription during pregnancy. If it is relatively stable and a change in glasses helps, then there is no reason you can not change your glasses. Some patients get dry eyeduring pregnancy which could be the cause of the blurred vision. If this is the case, using frequent artificial tears will help.See 1 more doctor answer
