Tsh Thyroid Stimulating Hormone With Reflex To Free T4
In subclinical hypothyroid with normal antibody tpo.Who gland responsible for sh pituitary or thyroid.
A hormone (from greek ὁρμή, "impetus") is a chemical released by a cell or a gland in one part of the body that sends out messages that affect cells in other parts of the organism. Only a little amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. In essence, it is a chemical messenger that transports a signal from ...Read more
Do any ssri's increase or decrease the following: thyroid stimulating hormone, free t3, (liothyronine) free t4, t3, (liothyronine) and/or t4?
High tsh- 5.5. Normal free T3 (liothyronine) & t4. Also normal total t3& t4. What causes this? Pituitary gland issue not thyroid?
May be normal: All lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Your TSH is at the upper end of normal and may be normal for you. You may discuss the issue of repeating the test in a year or so. ...Read more
What does a normal TSH but low free T4 level mean? Can you have an underactive thyroid with a low T4 alone? Tsh 2.45 T4 7
TSH, T3, (liothyronine) and T4 levels normal. Thyroglobulin antibody high (1.7 IU/mL). Small goiter with two <6mm nodules. 26y/o male. What to screen for?
US To Tell/More Info: I would want to know the true TSH (and T3/T4) as well prefer anti TPO Ab over Tg Ab. The worry of course is cancer. What you are describing is very low risk! You need an US (seems already done). 6 mm nodules are monitored unless there are suspicious finding on US, then bx suspicious nodules. If US OK, repeat in 6 mos. If TSH high nl with +Ab can also try course of thyroxine & nod may resolve. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not good: The exact answer depends on your general health, what other medical problems you current have, your age and the levels of the thyroid hormone ft4 and ft3. The cause of the low TSH is also important. In general, low TSH signifies hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is more dangerous than hypothyroidism. Death can occur with hyperthyroidism. ...Read more
Tsh 0.01, free t4, 1.34, tpo 113 . On 25 synthroid, (thyroxine) 5 cytomel. Doc not happy with tsh. Isn't TSH suppressed when taking t3? Hashimoto's by biopsy.
Depends: Your TSH is suppressed. Consider finding a good integrative medicine doctor or an nd to help with the autoimmune process. They can suggest things to actually bring down the tpo level and help your body heal. For your best long term outcome, more needs to be done than just thyroid meds. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What can cause low TSH of its not a Thyroid or pituitary problem? 0.01 TSH T3 (liothyronine) and T4 free normal, graves and hasmitos negative
2 possibilities: Hi. First of all, Hashimoto's doesn't cause a suppressed TSH, and YES, your TSH is SUPPRESSED, not "low", because your free T4 and total T3 (liothyronine) are "normal". A low TSH (pituitary defect) would cause low free T4 and possibly/probably low T3 (liothyronine). The most likely is a "hot" thyroid nodule (autonomously hyper-functioning); second most likely would be a phase of subacute thyroiditis. Follow over time to tell. ...Read more
Current blood work: T4 8.0 (4.5-12) TSH .049 (.45-4.5), with hypothyroidism and hashimotos, taking 90mg armour thyroid, are these levels ok?
Thyroid problem: If the lab is reporting TSH .049 with normal range of .45-4.5 then it means that you are taking too much thyroid armour. Check with your doctor. If the test and normal range are correct then you should be on less thyroid armour. ...Read more
Thyroid testing results. Free T4 1.10, Free T3 (liothyronine) 2.7, TSH 0.313, TSI 49. Normal or not? See endocrine dr Wednsday.
TSH w/reflex to T4 was 0.25. T4 free 1.2. T3 free 2.7. Tsh level was higher and synthroid (thyroxine) 137mg. Still on same dosage. Would this cause fatigue?
Possibly.: The low TSH with associated normal free T4 and free T3, (liothyronine) suggests borderline hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) which can cause fatigue. However, one should seek a thorough medical exam prior to concluding that the symptom of fatigue is not due to some other problem. ...Read more

I have hypocretin deficient narcolepsy which reduces TSH levels along with autoimmune hypothyroidism. Is the TSH test reliable to gauge my thyroid?
Not always: TSH is not always a reliable test, because it relies on what the pituitary thinks, but different tissues may have different sensitivity to thyroid hormone. In addition, some people make too much reverse T3 (liothyronine), (liothyronine) which can block the action of T3 (liothyronine). Google "stop the thyroid madness" ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Thyroid swelling. Ultrasound heterogenous thyroid parynchema with hypervascularity. Blood test-normal tsh t4 t3 (liothyronine) etc but >1300 TPo antibodies?
Hard to say: Ive yet to have anyone NOT have elevated TPo but I havent sent many. The standard answer would be that it likley is GRAVES disease starting but if there arent a lot of symptoms and the labs are normal you wouldnt give treatment. Retesting if symptoms and at about every 3 months. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
