Doctor, TSH Test level is Adult - 0.35 - 5.5 microIU/mL but my result is TSH - 6.75... my age is 26 years , male.. is it curable & Dangerous? Pls
Elevated TSH: Your TSH result is well above the normal range, if you fit the population used to define the range. What to do if i'm a 23 years old girl. Recently i went through TSH level test and got it to be 8.7. At this age, can it be treated completely?

I recently had a TSH test where my level was 4.86. I was pretty stressed and run-down at the time. Any chance it was a false positive as a result?
Not too abnormal: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your TSH value while higher than normal does not mean that you have a disease or need treatment. Do discuss it with your doctor and you may opt to repeat the test. info at http://www.webmd.com/women/thyroid-stimulating-hormone-tsh ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

On some of those, a clinical trial of BRAND NAME T4 replacement may sometimes be attempted, but you need to have defined guidelines before initiating replacement. Make sure your free T4 has also been checked, If you have questions, see an endocrinologist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
