Is TSH w/reflex to ft4 4.06 normal?

Is TSH w/reflex to ft4 4.06 normal?

High normal: A TSH of 4.06 is in the upper range of normal. The lab probably did not do the ft4 level, since the TSH was normal. Most people with these results feel perfectly normal. However, it could be a sign that your thyroid is starting to fail. It would be reasonable to repeat the TSH and do a free T4 level in a few months. ...Read more

I'm on Levothyroxine and Cytomel for T3 and T4 and my blood work came back TSH w/Reflex to FT4 is 0.01 L and T4, FREE is 0.6 L. What does this mean?

I'm on Levothyroxine and Cytomel for T3 and T4 and my blood work came back TSH w/Reflex to FT4 is 0.01 L and T4, FREE is 0.6 L. What does this mean?

Several things: Hi. Without seeing your thyroid function over time, I'd say the fact that you have a goiter & 2 cm nodule (same thing, or different?) AND taking T4 AND T3, you may be over-treated with T3 so that your TSH is suppressed and that causes low free T4, which is not made up for by the levothyroxine you're taking. I suggest you talk with your doctor, who won't have to guess like we do! Good luck! ...Read more

What does "Tsh with reflex(reflux?) to FT4" mean with blood work?Does that mean it's as complete thyroid check?

No: TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) is a marker for thyroid function. If it is abnormally high, the lab automatically (reflexively) does a Free T4 level. This is useful for diagnosing hypothyroidism, but it is not the same as a full thyroid panel. Hope this helps! ...Read more
