What is cause of low ferritin level of 12 and wbc low end of range 4.5,, wbc always on low end? All other blood work was normal ranges.
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, low ferritin indicates deficiency of iron. If the patient has started menstruating, that may be the cause. She should take oral iron supplement and multivitamin. WBC count of 4.5 is in normal range. ...Read more
What is the significance of persistently elevated lymphocyte levels (2 years, slightly above the normal range)?
Could be serious: Please have your doctor check this out. There is a condition called cll, which causes the lymphocytes to be elevated. If you are middle aged your risk for this is increased. It is a slowly progressive form of leukemia, but with monitoring, you can do well. If that isn't it, you may just have more lymphocytes than is "normal". ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have a prolactin level of 18 range is 5-18 still normal but at higher end of it. FSH and LH normal but low T level.Does that indicate pitutary tumor?
My TSH is high end of normal at 0.66, free T4 is 1.3 but my free T3 (liothyronine) is low end of normal at 2.7. Why does my TSH not better correlate with free t3/t4?
Hard to say,,: First, the TSH isn't at high normal, more like low normal (0.4-2.5uiu/ml), next is that the ft4 is at a high normal value. The ft3 is around low normal but it has a low half life so that might be why. You've got a history of hashimoto's which leads to hypothyroidism and take synthesis for replacement which can explain these values so it's good to see your doctor for a possible med adjustment. ...Read more
Thyroid blood test: normal tsh, and normal t 4, slightly lower free t3 (liothyronine). What is a normal TSH level?
0.4-4.5: In most labs, the normal TSH ranges between 0.4 and 4.5. Most people have TSH levels under 2.5. One can still be normal with higher TSH levels, but if you have hypothyroid symptoms, a mildly high TSH could be a sign of developing hypothyroidism. Free T3 (liothyronine) levels are not accurate in many labs, so a slightly low level may be meaningless. You should see an endocrinologist if you have symptoms. ...Read more

Low normal,,,: This is on the lower side of normal. So see your doctor for this and a good physical exam. Best of luck. ...Read more

Units per liter: The top of the reference range is set at around 40 u/l for most labs, but this should not be confused with a 'healthy range'. Most folks are well-below, and ethnicity and heredity may affect what is right for a person. The key is to know what to do with a number. The higher a person is above reference range, the more worrisome. ...Read more
My T3 levels have been low consistently, TSH normal, T4 on the high end of normal. Is the low T3 anything to be concerned about?
Hypothyroid and T3: If the TSH is normal, then that is strong evidence that you are normal. Pituitary TSH responds mostly to T3. If you T3 were too low, the TSH should be high. Indeed, I am not sure why T3 is being measured. There are more problems with the T3 assay than that of T4. This could just be "lab error". ...Read more
What is the normal FSH and LH values on the 3rd day of the cycle.Waht is the normal FSH to LH ratio?
A day 3 FSH: Should be low and this varies significantly. As a general rule we like to see it below 10 however this varies and you should speak to your obgyn. A "normal" value is difficult to interpret in young women, but having a value that is >40 is concerning regardless of age. Speak to your obgyn. Lh is less important unless both values are very very low. ...Read more
Hashimoto's thyroid : It means you have hashimoto's thyroid disease but your thyroid function is currently normal.
