Is a triphasic BBT chart a good indication of pregnancy? Still have a week until expected period

Not really : A pregnancy test is much better. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

Brachial artery shows triphasic flow but with blunting of the dialostic component and suggests collateral distal flow. What does this mean?

Brachial artery shows triphasic flow but with blunting of the dialostic component and suggests collateral distal flow. What does this mean?

Perhaps a fistula: Arterial blood flow has three phases, rapid forward flow systolic flow, transient reversal of flow during early diastole, and slow forward flow during late diastole. In your case, there appears to be some change in the diastolic flow, suggesting that there may be some connection that has formed over time or resulted from some trauma. The significance depends on the clinical history and findings. ...Read more

Ultrasound says that the brachial artery has normal triphasic flow but also indicates collateral distal flow. What is collateral distal flow? Bad?

Flow around blockage: Distal collateral arterial flow would imply that an arterial branch of the brachial artery such as the ulnar or radial artery is blocked or narrowed. When this happens, small branching arteries that can bridge the blocked segment enlarge to get some blood beyond the blockage. These collateral branches maintain viability and some function of the areas affected by the main blockage. ...Read more

Nausea: There are some estrogen effects such as headache and nausea, as well as bleeding the end of the cycle that can be indicative of too much estrogen. Remember though that estrogen was placed in the pill to prevent thiinig of the uterine lining that causes bleeding. It can take 3 months to regulate the bleeding on an ocp so be patient if just starting. The bleeding profiles ocp's not much different. ...Read more

How can I skip my period or delay it for one week when taking tri-previfem (triphasic birth control)? I only need to do this one time

How can I skip my period or delay it for one week when taking tri-previfem (triphasic birth control)? I only need to do this one time

Extra pills for a we: After 3 weeks on your current pack of pills you can immediately start on a new pack for one week. These 7 pills will take the place of "blank" pills at the end of a 4 week pack. Then go off the pills for a week to have your period. At this point it would be best to start on a whole new pack, to avoid confusion. Other option: finish out the new pack to delay menses by 2 more weeks. ...Read more

I'm on a triphasic birth control pill. I want to delay my period by taking 2 packs at a time. Take all the white pills from 2 packs etc..Is that safe?

Call your gyn: But if u do not want a period you do not take the placebo pills at the end u start a new pack, and i would recommend a lower dose pill as i hardly ever prescribe that pill only for women who have problems with lower dose pills , the lower the dose the safer. ...Read more

Why does clear thick mucus sometimes come out during withdrawal bleed while on triphasic pill? (Like ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate) lo)

Why does clear thick mucus sometimes come out during withdrawal bleed while on triphasic pill? (Like ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate) lo)

Light menses?: Women on hormonal contraception generally have relatively light menses. Also, the healthy vagina and inner labia make mucus etc. to lubricate and moisten these areas. Estrogens may induce additional mucus production. A combination of less bleeding & more mucus production might make the mucus more visible. As long as the mucus is clear & you don't have other symptoms, don't be alarmed. ...Read more

Period will start on wedding day. Can i skip triphasic ocp placebo and take continuous estrogen/progesterone to prevent period?

No: That may cause some breakthrough bleeding. You may need to switch to a monophasic for a cycle or 2 and then skip the placebo on that or take phase 3 from other packs and continue that till you are ready to get a period. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis, and had an ultrasound of my liver, now my doctor wants me to have a triphasic CT scan of my liver. Why ?

I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis, and had an ultrasound of my liver, now my doctor wants me to have a triphasic CT scan of my liver. Why ?

Probably: They saw a focal mass on the ultrasound. First off, a mass does not mean cancer. Most masses in the liver are benign. However, ultrasound cannot always tell you exactly what it is, whereas a multiphase ct or MRI often can. I would not be worried, the dr. Is just being thorough. ...Read more

Hi! i'm skipping my period using triphiasic pill. Is heavy cramping normal? On day 6 of 2nd pack, when period'd normal start. No breakthrough bleeding

It is difficult: For you to do continuous birth control using a triphasil (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) pill since the estrogen levels change every week. If you want to do continuous birth control than i would recommend switching to a monophysite pill. The cramping, etc is coming from your body wanting to have your period and now hit with large doses of estrogen again. ...Read more
