Can non chlamidial ngu cause pid in female partner. Gonorrhoea, chlamidia, mycoplasma genitalium, ureaplsama , trich all negative. No std found. ?
Probably not: Neither PID nor any other health problem has ever been documented in the sex partners of men with NGU not due to chlamydia or M. genitalium. Does your partner have PID, or are you just worried concerned about it? If the latter, my advice is to not worry. If PID is suspected, she of course should see her doctor or perhaps an NHS GUM clinic. Otherwise nothing need be done. ...Read more
Treated for yeast-fluconazole and Gardnerella- metronidazole. Absolutely no better with external burning/itching. STD negative and PAP normal.
Irritant? other bug?: Sometimes vaginal itching and burning is due to major irritation from a chemical such as a soap, lotion or other product. And there can be other organisms including trichomonas among others. If all types of infection have been excluded, then brief treatment with a low dose topical steroid cream might be indicated. Continue to work with your doctor on this. ...Read more
Can metronidazole vaginal gel (at night for 5 days) treat cervicitis and bacterial vaginosis at the same time??
Probably OK, but...: Bacterial vaginosis is often accompanied by cervicitis. It isn't clear whether BV causes cervicitis or vice versa. Probably you were tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea, which definitely cause cervicitis; double check with your doctor. Assuming you don't have them, BV treatment alone may be sufficient. Oral metronidazole is the usual treatment for BV, usually more effective than the vaginal gel. ...Read more
Treated for yeast/Gardnerella. Miconazole gel for bacterial. Fluconazole for yeast but culture negative. No improv/Apt tomorrow. No STD. PAP normal?
Here are some ...: After the described run of care, it's time to reassess if the initial Dx and concern is clinically significant or just personal unique vaginal discharge along menstrual cycle so to decide if more studies are practically needed or additional Rx is required, or simply just leave it alone and watch. So, work with Doc closely ... ...Read more
See a doctor: There is no way to know what this is without examining you. If you have failed a single oral dose of Fluconazole you might want to try intravaginal medication containing butoconazole, clotrimazole, miconazole, nystatin, tioconazole, or terconazole. But this may not be failure of treatment. It might be something else, and this is not the place for personal diagnoses. ...Read more

Can I be tested for Trich, mycoplasma genit and hominis, ureaplasma urealyticum? Clear of Chlam and Gon but have SX of PID.
Yes: Trichomonas can be seen under the microscope in the doctors office in a sample of vaginal discharge. It is a bacterium with a flagellum that swims around. There are tests for mycoplasma and ureaplasma but they are very specialized and not usually available at a standard doctor's office. Its actually easier to treat them empirically rather than test for them. Best wishes! ...Read more
Oral sex. Tested 2 wks for std and ngu. clear. No discharge.Returned to clinic as tip of urethra irritated. swab= 7wbc=ngu. 1st ngu test wrong?
Maybe: Life is not exact. Tests are not perfect. Tests have false positives and false negatives... which is why their results must be interpreted in the context of a patient's symptoms, clinical situation, and risk factors. A positive result matching the symptoms is likely to be a valid result. A negative result matching the lack of symptoms is likely to be valid. Sometimes the unexpected happens in life ...Read more

What treatment is recommended if two rounds of Azythromycin (1g) and 14-days of Doxycycline haven't cleared up vaginal Chlamydia infection?
Partner checked?: It would seem highly unlikely that the infection is not cured if you've gone through this therapy. This raises the possibility that you got reinfected??? or it is NOT just Chlamydia - perhaps something that hasn't yet been diagnosed (like Mycoplasma). Or the germ is resistant-but that's the least probable of the 3. Hopefully an Infectious Diseases specialist can help you, if you're not seeing one. ...Read more
