Cold preparations: Over the counter cold medicines do not reduce symptoms enough to risk the side effects including changes in heart rate and blood pressure. My Daughter Has a cough. Is 4yrs. Can I give her children's triaminic night cough n cold with diphenhydramine & phenylephrine if so what dose?
Is it okay to give a 1.5 year old Triaminic? What is good for a persistent cough likely from allergies?
It depends: Children's Triaminic products can be given to a child of 18 months but only those with acetaminophen/dextromethorphan. Children's Triaminic products with pseudoephedrine (decongestant) or chlorpheniramine(antihistamine) should not be given to children under six years. If allergies are thought to be present than you need an antihistamine like cetirizine for children. Check with your pediatrician. ...Read more

I gave my 9 yr old son nasonex (mometasone) this morning, and 2 kids ibuprofen this evening. Can i now give him triaminic daytime cold & cough for decongestion?
2.5 hours ago we gave our 3.7 yrs old triaminic night time cold and cough (2.5 ml). Now he has 100.2 f fever and gave him ibuprofen (5ml). Is it safe?
Yes: Always make sure that the ingredients in one drug don't overlap with the other, so you avoid overdosing (classically, it was very easy to overdose on tylenol due to the amount of acetaminophen-containing medications). There does not appear to be overlap between these two. Hope he feels better! ...Read more

Why does my heart race when I am lying down on my side? Why does my asthma act up when i'm lying down which makes me cough for a long period.
Go see your doctor: Tell him/her what you've noted above. Neither heart rate nor asthma should be positional. In other words, neither should respond to or be affected by your position. So best to get complete evaluation. You didn't mention taking any medications so best to confirm your asthma diagnosis including severity so that you can receive appropriate standard of care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Long distance running vs. Walking abunch of miles everyday. Which of the two would have more of an effect on skinniness of the legs and also the thinness of the bones?
Well: Running will not be good for thin legs and if the bones are frail it may cause more harm than good. Brisk walking is good for your heart and endurance but if you want real physcial change involving increased muscle tone, wt bearing will need to b involved. Gd luc. ...Read more
