I have a cold / flu stuffed nose coughing mucus and fever headache. Can I take robitusin eith Tylenol cold at same time?
Better not: and which ones? Either Robitussin or tylenol cold have several preparations with different ingredients, stick to only one and read the labels carefully for dosing and timing. Rest, fluids, saline nasal washes would help, and tylenol would help fever, if not better or symptoms are getting worse in a day or two, see your doctor, wish you well ...Read more
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Hi. can i take non-drowsy allergy relief and nighttime cold and flu medicine at the same time? I have a runny nose, sneezing, cough, and ear pain.
Nighttime cold & flu: medicine should be enough, most of them already contain an antihistamine in the ingredients, so no need to add a non-drowsy allergy medicine. Read the labels carefully, rest, fluids, salt water gargles and saline nasal washes, if no improvement soon, especially ear pain, see your doctor, also stop smoking if you are, and avoid being around smokers, best wishes ...Read more

Likely a virus : Likely a virus. Take rest, drink plenty fluids, & chicken noodle soup. You should be improving in 2-3 days & healed by 5-7 days. If worsening symptoms persist, esp with fever, then you must see clinician & may need antibiotics. Virus germs don't respond to antibiotics , only bacterial germs, & yours is most likely a virus. Hope that helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Decongestants in combination with cough medications can actually be harmful. Using guafenesin may be helpful to help secretions stay loose. Increasing fluid intake and humidity in the air can definitely help. Honey (for kids over 12 months) may be a natural remedy. ...Read more

Watch for acetominophen (tylenol) and Ibuprofen (motrin, advil) in the multi-ingredient medications. A person with a sore throat should check with her doctor to see if she has a strep throat infection, or other "treatable" illness. ...Read more
