Tretinoin Cost Without Insurance
I have been using tazorac (tazarotene) for about two years. Due to insurance purposes I have to switch to tretinoin. I'm wondering how the transition will go?
Is it normal to still break out when switching from Tazorac to Tretinoin cream? I was clear on Tazorac but had to switch due to insurance.
Due to change of insurance, I can no longer afford clindamycin phosphate benzoyl peroxide gel and tretinoin cream. Is there is any compatible OCTs?
Acne: You can try Benzoyl Peroxide which is available over the counter. Two strengths are available - 5% and 10%. It comes as a face wash and topical cream. Not legally: Renova is a us brand of tretinoin. France, as does the entire european union, has strict rules against importing non-eu manufactured prescription medications. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Renova and you can get regular tretinoin in france very easily. Be careful with sun-exposure and use a good sunscreen with it. Start of at a low-dose until your skin becomes tolerant and ten increase it. ...Read more
At least 4 weeks: It may take 4-6 weeks to see beneficial results from acne treatment with a tretinoin. This is the lower strength so sometimes you may need to increase the strength. Tretinoin is first line therapy for mild to moderate comedonal acne. Keep in mind it is a photosensitive medication, avoid applying in the daytime especially in the summer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Tretinoin also has rejuvenative effects on the skin namely compacting the epidermis so skin looks and feels smoother, increasing collagen content so that skin has less fine lines and wrinkles, and minimizing brown spots to provide more even coloration. ...Read more
Unsure: "benzoyl peroxide will disable tretinoin leaving the tretinoin useless". Then there is other evidence that this is not so....http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pmc/articles/pmc2958193/ "there was no benzoyl peroxide-induced degradation of tretinoin when the optimized formulation of tretinoin gel (0.05%) was admixed with Benzoyl Peroxide Gel (6.26%)". Can you use tretinoin and clindymicin during the day, or is it better just at night? Is it ok twice daily once at night one in the morning?
Dosing schedule..: Tretinoin should only be used once a day - more frequently will only cause irritation and could make matters worse rather than better. For most people the routine is more easily done at night, but if for some odd reason morning really works alot better, it could be done. Just can't put make-up and sunscreen over it. Clindamycin, however, should be done topically twice a day, espeically if severe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can you take a 2 month summer break from renova (tretinoin) to catch a little sun. I mean little! Live in northeast and always in sun for summer.
Renova (tretinoin): Two weeks is a good amount of time. I usually recommend between one and two weeks prior to intense sun exposure. For moderate sun exposure, one does not need to stop the Retin-A at all, just use proper sun protection and avoid the sun in peak hours. Given that it will be difficult to avoid intense sun exposure on your trip, your plan to use sun protective clothing, eyewear and sunscreens. ...Read more
