Dermatitis vs fungal: An 'itchy' rash in the axilla (arm pit) may be a 'contact dermatitis' or a yeast/fungal infection. An otc treatment for dermatitis is Cortaid (hydrocortisone 1%) and the treatment for fungal infection is otc 'anti-fungal' e.g. Lotrimin. Skin rashes that are itch and have hive? What treatment is needed?

Skin rashes that are itch and have hive? What treatment is needed?

Antihistamines: Standard treatment for hives are antihistamines. Excellent ones are available over-the-counter. Most people like Benadryl - but that's the result of brand recognition. See your np, pa, or hcp if this doesn't work. ...Read more
